At this point in the gala, Severus was trekking around Merlin's Pride awaiting Barty to find some much-deserved freedom from the press and whoever else was hogging him. He had managed to find his way into what appeared to be a casino; it actually astounded him that it wasn't being utilized as part of the gala. Maybe the Ministry didn't want to be associated with gambling? Whatever the case, he was going to take advantage of the free real estate. Pretend he's James Bond and Barty's out there as his beautiful love interest... Ah, that's the life.

Severus took a seat at one of the poker tables and pulled out one of his cigarettes. With nobody around, there was no need to sit properly, so he propped up his legs onto the table and lit his cigarette. Good thing there were no shortage of ashtrays in these parts.

Of course, his moment of imaginative bliss would be disrupted when he heard footsteps from outside that clearly wasn't Barty's. There was a long list of people he didn't want to deal with. If he was lucky, Severus could at least tolerate their presence. He doubted that'd be the case.

@Rosalie Prince

Rosalie had just arrived to the party and right now she was quite bored. Just the site of what was in front of her was enough to make her want to throw everyone off the boat and just drive it away from the port as a joke. According to some of the chatter she heard there was a poker area and why not try to scam people out of money?

Rosa arrived and immediately saw a face that she has heard of from the moment she could speak back. Walking up behind him and ripping the cigarette from his mouth as she took a seat beside him, her already short dress riding up as she crossed her legs and took a puff of the cigarette. "Well well, look who plays poker" Rosa grinned.

@Severus Snape

Why did it have to be Rosalie?! They barely recognized each other as cousins. Hell, her family didn't even consider him a Prince. It was a shame really as though he enjoyed some aspects of muggle culture, he preferred associating with his magical heritage. Severus would've preferred dealing with Rowle even if it would likely involve his love life being demeaned.

"You can't play poker by yourself, stupid."

Why did she have to yank his cigarette away? He needed that for this newly-found stressor!

@Rosalie Prince

Rosalie knew who he was, this was her cousin once removed since his pathetic bitch of a mother was a blood traitor to their family. The Prince family was supposed to be pure and dangerous and now she had to make sure her family lived up to their once great moments considering it was almost destroyed.

Rosalie smirked at him but it never reached her eyes that went dark. "I can do whatever I want by myself but indulge me, who is going to stop me here? You? You're weak Snapers and no match for me" Rosalie responded to him.

@Severus Snape

"Weak? You don't even know what I'm capable of." Barty was the only other person in the entire world who was aware of sectumsempra. Severus relented and pulled out another cigarette. If she kept the one she stole from him, maybe this one would remain in his possession. He didn't boast about his abilities as there's an advantage to having an element of surprise. However, Severus wasn't going to tolerate Rosalie putting him down.

"You interrupted some pleasant fantasies of mine while Barty's stuck dealing with all those arseholes."

@Rosalie Prince

"Neither do you Snapey, you see I am good at a lot of things that don't require me to use my looks, you see I am good at taking other people's things and breaking it.. So what should I take? Your wand? Your sanity? Oh I know.. Your boyfriend" Rosa smirked as she puffed the cigarette.

"Oh! I didn't know you were into fantasies, do share them? I'm sure they're naughty just like your mother abandoning her family" Rosa responded.

@Severus Snape

His face reddened in fury; he was quite understanding of the fact that it was likely a bluff unless a love potion was used, but Severus couldn't bear the hypothetical idea of losing the one person he felt as if he could unconditionally trust. He and Barty were each other's confidantes, they were kindred spirits. It could be hormones and the rush of puppy love, but Barty was his everything. He didn't want to entertain any possibility of having that snatched away from him.

"You will not hear any of my fantasies you pig," Severus sneered giving her a glare more intense than his usual temperament in class or just about anywhere that lacked Barty. "Guess what? You're just as nefarious as the fuzz. I could slice your face off with the flick of my wand. Don't. Test. Me."

@Rosalie Prince

Rosalie loved getting reactions out of people and loved when she pushed all the right buttons and it looked like she had succeeded pretty quickly with Snape "Careful there Snapey, people might hear all your deep dark secrets" Rosalie teased as she puffed the cigarette.

"Well I have to give you credit for actually having the balls to threaten me, I mean they're small no doubt but its enough to actually threaten. Too bad I have heard that before, so what else do you have? As for not testing you, Severus, its you who shall not test me I have a lot more up my sleeve then annoyance" Rosalie reminded him.

@Severus Snape

Merlin, was she infuriating! How the hell did their housemates put up with her all of these years? At least with Rowle, you could laugh about his machoness in private. Nothing seemed to ever faze Rosalie. That made her more frightening. No matter what you did to deter her, she seemed to have a knack for deflecting it.

"I'm not a bloody psychopath like you are," Severus hissed in response. Sure, he had some thoughts on what he could do to the marauders, but those hypotheticals were all for defense and revenge. It was astounding that, after years of brutal corridor torture by them, he hadn't reached a breaking point. "Why did you come in here? Couldn't find a dick you haven't already ridden?" Sometimes, it felt as if he was one of very few in Slytherin who heard of the term monogamy.

At this point, the cigarette in his fingers was close to splitting in half; he was becoming that enraged by her. How the hell was he supposed to calm down from this when he didn't know where Barty was?

Rosalie was definitely one of a kind when it came to how she handled things and when it came to being her, she was a damn goddess in her eyes and she had a knack for making people notice her. Rosalie liked being the one girl who everyone labeled as unpredictable.

"Aw! Snapey! Thank you for the compliment, I mean that truly" she responded to him with a grin. Rosa loved when she got compliments for the peasants. Then he had asked her what brought her in here and she couldn't help but chuckle. "Oh please this place is an all dick buffet for me but I am simply in here to get away from the noise. This party is not as fun as I thought it would be" Rosalie puffed her cigarette she had stole.

@Severus Snape

"..."

That was not supposed to be a compliment. What wouldn't be a compliment to her? Lying about her weight? Then again, she'd probably find some way to laugh it off. Severus wasn't going to run off and let her have the last word; that would cause him to appear weak, and that was the last thing he desired. "Yet you couldn't have found any other spot in the ship to lollygag at?"

Why couldn't it have been Barty in here? He'd be able to adequately use the time and space with his company.

"No room on this ship is familiar with padlocks. Instead of bothering me like you did at the formal, it'd be better for the both of us if you fingered yourself elsewhere."

He would prefer to not lose his cool. That kind of energy should be saved for those who'd deserve to feel the full extent of his wrath.

Rosalie loved when people gave that look whenever she just either let things roll off her back or just told them she was taking it as a compliment. Rosa was definitely an odd one but she was perfectly fine with that. "Nope! I am perfectly fine coming in here and talking to the cousin that gives me the most beautiful compliments" Rosa half teased.

Oh yeah! He was still upset about the formal and she wanted to just poke fun at that once again but she just chuckled before taking a puff. "You just take shit too seriously Snapey, as for me fingering myself elsewhere I need to be in the mood to do that, plus I masturbated twice today already so I think I'm good for now" she responded to him with no care in the world.

In what world was this talking? If anything, he was being driven up the wall. It felt as if it was her only goal to irritate him to death. The casino was like an insane asylum except it was just him and one of the least normal cousins he could ask for.

"What do you mean by 'take shit too seriously'?" It was natural for Severus to hop onto the defense whenever anybody questioned or belittled him. Back in Cokeworth, he always had to justify his existence or any dumb mistakes he could've made whenever his father was in a particularly sour disposition. "Jesus, I didn't need to know specifics..." The thought of her sex life was horrifying.

@Rosalie Prince

Rosalie was very open about herself and her life so if she did something and someone wanted to make a comment. It was their fault when she responded. Rosa was not dumb when it came to how she lived, she knew what she did and wanted in life. For those who didn't condone it.. fuck them.

"You're too serious all the time, you're only young once and you're living it in a damn bubble that I am dying to pop" Snape played things too safe and it was annoying. He was supposed to be a Slytherin not a Hufflepuff. Rosa took a puff of her cigarette as she grinned and chuckled at her cousin. "You shouldn't have commented on my sex life then, I am an open young woman.... Huh! I just realized that might be why my grandma wants to marry me off" things were briefly making sense.

Bubble popped? "Just because I've grown up around muggles doesn't mean I'm sheltered, you nitwit." Sighing a bit too loudly, he shook his head and got up from the poker table. Severus had gotten up to some wild happenings over the summer. He just wasn't going to do it within company of the majority of his magical peers as they could leverage it as ammunition against him. Why give them that kind of privilege?

"What an intelligent analysis. At least being half-mudblood makes me exempt from such draconian practices!" Severus shouted. "Get it out of your system or you'll give more shame to the Prince name by producing a bastard. What do you have to contribute to society other than your genitals? Unlike you, I have a promising aspiration in the field of potions."

@Rosalie Prince

Rosa chuckled at him. "Are you sure? Because you're using words like nit wit and that's not a good insult Snapey" she pointed out to him. Rosa watched him like a Snake watches its prey, he was getting angry and it was making her amusement grow.

"So you're not into those practices? Your mother used to be before she got all pathetic" Rosa mentioned as she was getting up so that she could be standing like Snapey. Rosa chuckled as she got closed to Snape and grabbed his chin, her eyes heated and angered. "You think you can judge me? Believe it or not but when I commit to someone I stay committed even if I cannot stand the poor lad so no bastards will come from me, although a bastard came from your pathetic blood traitor of a mother. Now learn your god damn place Severus or I'll make sure you learn it when I skin that little boyfriend of yours alive in front of you" she spat every single word with venom. "You told me not to test you, but its you that shall not test me, you have no idea the things I know and have learned, you think you can inflict pain? I enjoy pain!" It was true, she enjoyed pain and enjoyed inflicting it a lot more.

@Severus Snape

"You don't know how to take a bloody hint! God forbid you learn to leave people alone instead of acting like a goddamn parasite!"

She did not know his mother! She didn't know his mum at all. "She never bloody did to have married a muggle so quickly after Hogwarts. It's called logic. Use it." Severus could handle his parents being insulted. By this point, he was used to it. He had become numb to such comments rather quickly while he still attended public school. He flinched at the touch of her fingers on his chin. "Don't. Touch. Me."

Was she begging for him to be provoked? Was she begging to be forever seen as an enemy in his eye? Blood wasn't thicker than water, and she was evidence of it. They're only on the same side by being in Slytherin. Otherwise, he wouldn't dare associate with the likes of her.

Severus briefly looked away and slowly reached for his wand. While he listened to her tirade, he pointed it at her arm and whispered, "Sectumsempra." A few seconds later, he performed the countercurse.

"You shouldn't have threatened Barty... If you're one to be committed so intensely, practice serial monogamy instead of fucking every Dick and Jerry we have classes with."

"What can I say? Its one of my specialties and if I was really bothering you you would have left by now. So either you're stubborn or you just love my company" even though Rosalie knew he hated when she was around ever since the last time.

Rolling her eyes, she didn't know the woman but she knew about her.. Well enough. "I guess your father was so good in bed that that's why she left her family" Rosalie replied. When he told her not to touch him she grinned at him, of course he didn't want to be touched by a female, she wasn't the right gender.

Rosalie stepped back from him and took a puff of her cigarette before she was on the ground. When she looked up she seen Snape with his wand and couldn't help but chuckle while she bled on the ground. Down he had guts to attack her and before she knew it the blood was gone and she looked up at him from the ground. "Your lucky the blood is gone, this was a good and perfect dress" Rosalie said as she stood up.

"I threaten a lot of people, you think he's the first?" Rosa responded. Walking closer to him once more as she nodded. "You don't know what I know, don't forget I am a Prince and I was raised my cruel people like myself, so instead of worrying about what I am doing, you should watch your back there Snapey. You should be glad I know how to handle my own problems and I'm not my older brother who goes crying when someone bumped into him because if I was him.. You would no longer exist along with whoever you loved. But I do have to say I am impressed!" Rosalie responded with a grin.

"You had the damn balls to actually do something like that, I do have to applaud you.. I guess your balls aren't so small afterall" Rosalie responded with a shrug. Rosalie got closer to him again and with one swift movement grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him square on the lips before pushing him into the table and grinning at him as she noticed her red lipstick on his face. "If only we weren't related and you weren't gay" and with that Rosalie left chuckling at her dumbass cousin.

Leave? He was there first! It was her who should've fucked off when he told her to the first time. Severus knew he couldn't argue too much. When it came to people pushing his buttons, he got extremely stubborn. It wasn't stubbornness to him. Instead, it was assertiveness. It was a shield, his barrier. The barrier he allowed very few people to just look through. It was rarer when he let somebody enter it outright. His cousin was to be neither of those.

Sigh. Everything was about sex to her, wasn't it? He knew exactly how he came to be. He still didn't want to think of his parents in the act. Severus doubted that they did it nowadays, but truth was always stranger than fiction.

"..."

He kept silent. He gave his warning shot. He had to not respond any further. No, he couldn't let her have the last word. That was a very good plan until his boundaries were pushed beyond comprehension. One moment, Severus was in his thoughts as Rosalie blabbered. The next, he was forced into a one-sided kiss that hadn't fully registered. His hand still held tight onto his wand, yet he was too wooden to send another warning spark at her.

As he watched his cousin depart, he touched his cheek with his fingers and held it out to his line of view. Dear god. Why didn't he use the spell on that blasted mouth on her?

Once she was no longer visible, Severus ran out from the other doors to find a working sink and mirror. Maybe even a shower. He wasn't going to let himself be tainted like that. Where was Barty when he needed him?
